How it Works

Behind the scenes, Para uses Multi-Party Computation (MPC) and Distributed Key Generation (DKG) to ensure that:

1. Your wallet is secure
2. You can access it easily across different apps
3. You’re always in control of your assets

Wallet Creation

1. Create an Account: You can sign up using your email, phone, or social account. It’s as simple as creating any other online account.
   1. In the case of signing up with the email or phone field, you will be asked to verify with a six digit OTP code. This step ensures it’s really you creating the account.
2. Set up your Password or Passkey: Set up a passkey or a password. You’ll use this to log into your account.
   1. This may involve using your device’s FaceID or TouchID or creating a strong PIN.
   2. After you set up your password or passkey, Para will automatically create the wallet(s) required by the application you signed into.
3. Recovery Secret: You will be prompted to save, email, or download a Recovery Secret. This string of characters enables you to recover your account in case you lose your password or passkey.
4. Funding your Wallet: You can add funds to your wallet via the Deposit flow or the On-Ramp flow
